Configuration & Installation
Q: What do I need to run multiple nodes on a single machine?
A: When running multiple nodes you should have at least 8M of RAM. Up to
16M RAM will give optimum performance. You may need a Digiboard or
other multiport card and a special com driver like Turbocomm. Use at
least a 486DX-33 for two or more nodes. The faster the machine the
better.
We recommend Digiboards and GTEK cards for multiport cards.
Q: My events don't run!
A: Be sure to check "Run Events for This Node" in Config, Options #1, and restart PowerBBS.
Q: Can the Main Lobby icon be removed?
A: Yes, see PowerAccess options in Config.
Q: I can't get my Sysop Pager to work.
A: Be sure to set up your Sysop Paging Times file. Make sure none of
your times span across midnight turn the pager on. Shut down PowerBBS.
Restart it.
Q: My Who's On-Line display shows nodes I don't have or is incorrect. What do I do?
A: Shut down PowerBBS. Delete the *.net files in \powrbbs. Restart your nodes.
Q: When I install PowerBBS or PowerAccess, I get a report that my DUNZIP.DLL is out of date. How do I get the new one?
A: You already have the most recent version of dunzip.dll. The problem
is that other programs incorrectly install this DLL. Plugin for Windows
is a known culprit. Simply search for duplicates of dunzip.dll on your
system. Delete them all. Reinstall PowerBBS/PowerAccess. That's it!
