Q: My message file is bloated to 8Meg in size and is corrupt. What happened?
A: Some people have reported that their message files have ballooned to nearly 8M in size.
This problem has been linked to lost clusters and/or cross-linked files on the hard drive.
To be safe, run SCANDISK and CHKDSK /F on your hard drive on a regular basis. Do NOT use a
WRITE-BEHIND disk cache. SmartDrive by default uses a write-behind cache. See your DOS
manual on how to disable this.

Q: Must my callers automatically receive TEL.DLL and AMERICAN.VTD?
A: If you put the above files in your RESTRICT directory, PowerBBS will send them to
PowerAccess callers automatically.
The *.VTD file is a dictionary file for the spell checker.This file is optional for
callers. We recommend you move it to a standard file list and let callers download it on
their own.
The TEL.DLL is for the RTF (GUI) message editor and for RTF objects on PowerGenerator
screens. If you do not use the RTF object, then you callers are not required to have this
file. However, without it, your callers will not see GUI messages. If you offer mostly
echo mail and Internet newsgroups, then the GUI messages are of limited use. You may want
to consider moving this file from the RESTRICT directory to a standard file list and offer
it as an optional download.
